Album Review: Wonder Girls “The Wonder Years Triology”
Track 1 – Intro: This is the version of the song “Nobody” that was used in the teaser trailer, it’s a short song that only covers like 5 lines from the full song. This song actually seems more interesting than the original “Nobody” single because of it’s 60’s inspired vibe compared to the modern generic songs that JYP has put out as their last two singles.
Track 2 – Nobody
I didn’t really see a third Wonder Girl’s single coming so soon, but I’m not surprised to see that it spawns from their last two major singles “Tell me” and “So Hot.” I thought that by now I would get sick of hearing songs like this, but I liked it from the moment I heard the chorus part.
Yes, as generic as it may be, it’s also very upbeat and catchy. The song is rather short (or at least it feels like it), but I love how Yoobin finishes off the song.
I want nobody nobody but CHU!!
The music video is very “The Supremes” and Dream Girls inspired which I can’t help but love. Once again, JYP is somehow featured in the video. The little hip swings and some of the choreography even reminds me of the dance moves from their last singles.
Track 3 – I Tried
This R&B, ballad-style song is reminiscent to the soft vibe of “미안한 마음” but with a more relaxed chorus. I like it very much and it’s a nice contrast to the previous song. Has anyone noticed that So Hee is getting better at singing? Or maybe they just give her the easier parts of the songs to sing…
Track 4 – Saying I Love You
Ahhh, I’m so biased when it comes to piano songs. Once again, I have to declare that the piano intro initially caught my interest. I wasn’t sure who sang the first verse, but I’m guessing that it’s Yoobin…she can’t sing as well as the other girls but she does her own parts fairly well. This song is more rhythmic than the previous track but for me they both get even ratings.
Track 5 - Nobody (Rainstone Remix)
Thus far, there are at least three different versions of “Nobody.” I think that this is the remix that they sang at their comeback performance. The remix is less peppy but if you get sick of the original mix then you can always turn to this track.
There is one improvement in this song, Yoobin’s rap is hotter in this song.
Overall, the single is okay. The highlight of it will probably be the “Nobody” single. I’m still waiting for another full album. Although I do like Wonder Girls, none of their songs are really listed in my “all time favorite Korean songs” quite yet. Recommended for WG fans, for everyone else…ermm…go pick up YounHa’s album.

I don’t know how the WG manage to keep doing this! Irony, Tell Me, So Hot, and now Nobody have all been the most repetitive songs ever (which usually bothers me) and I still end up liking the songs for a while and sing it to the point where I go insane xD
I said the same thing about Sohee’s voice! She’s finally improving
And I just LOOOOVE the remix of Nobody. Yoobin’s rap was hot hehe.
