Meet the Staff: TrUaZn2005

Submitted by jiamei on Friday, 8 August 20087 Comments

TrUaZn2005’s real name is Paul Long, who has recently become a staff member. He was born in Michigan and moved to Washington State at the age of four, then moved back at the age of eleven.

Paul now attends Davenport University studying networking and network security.  He was on the Dean’s list in high school and he plans to “finish college with his double Bachelor’s degree, get a CCNA certification, pursue those careers, and build a car and drift”.  Eventually he would also like to visit Japan.

Because of his interest in cars, Paul has gained connections with a lot of import models and he even introduced AC’s first model “Bijoux” to the site.  He’s also become the editor of the cars and technology sections of the AC Buzz.  Anime is also another interest of Paul’s as his three favorite titles are Bleach, Initial D, and Naruto.

Aside from his interests in cars, he is very into computers (which is obviously why he is majoring in network security) and is the go-to guy if you have a problem with yours. When he’s not daydreaming about cars, he is probably improving his own computer, fixing someone else’s, or working with some other electronics.

Paul has one younger sister, Sophia, who happens to be another staff member on Asian-Central.  Their mother works at Gentex making mirrors, and his father is an operator at Shape Corp.

His favorite Asian artist is Se7en, but for American artists he would have to go with Kanye West because of his awesome experience at one of his “Glow in the Dark Tour” concerts.

Interviewers:
solong2010 (Sophia)
jiamei (Brenda)

Brenda:  When did you join AC and why?
Paul:  I think it was July 12.  The only reason I can think is I just finally felt like checking out the site.
Sophia:  Liar!  It was because you wanted to write for the AC Buzz.
Paul:  I also wanted to check it out.
Brenda:  Wow, this will be an interesting article.

Brenda:  What skills do you have that you think you can apply on AC to help growth and maintenance of the site?
Paul:  I am studying networking/network security so anything in that department.  Like that flood of massive spam on the Buzz that I identified as a DDoS attack.

Brenda:  You’re the editor of the cars and technology section of the buzz, what about cars interests you?
Paul:  I guess the interest is that you can take the car from stock to whatever you want.  Like looks or more power it just takes money.  The car can become your alter ego, like my car is flash and loud, most of the time that is not me.

Brenda:  You’re getting into computer stuff, what does the rest of your family do?
Paul:  Umm…mom and dad work…my sis does what she does on AC, violin, Korean stuff…
Sophia:  Korean stuff HAHA geez.  Oh you make me seem so cool.
Brenda:  We’ll interrogate your sister at a later time.

Brenda:  What do you think of your sister and her behavior?  Just to spice up the article a bit. Tehe.
Paul:  Umm…behavior huh…
Sophia:  HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Paul:  Besides being too loud at times or bothering me when I’m too dead to care…
Sophia:  I just keep talking even though you don’t care.
Brenda:  Online battle between brother and sister.
Paul:  Yeah, like when I come home from school and it’s like 9pm and I’m dead from that or work.
Sophia:  I’m a loving sister.

Brenda:  Is he a loving brother?  You both can put your two cents in for that one.
Sophia:  Yup, when he’s “alive” enough to listen to me.
Brenda:  When you’re ranting about Big Bang?
Paul:  Was that like 5 weeks ago when I was not working?
Sophia:  LOL, my Big Bang rants omg.
Paul:  She rants about them all the time, I could do without the screaming.
Sophia:  HAHAHA.
Paul:  SCREAMING.

Brenda:  You know your sister is boy crazy, what is your attitude about girls Paul?
Sophia: LOL
Paul:  Umm…I like girls. lol
Sophia:  Oh great answer.
Brenda:  Paul is straight: confirmed.

Brenda:  Do you freak out about them like Sophia does about guys?
Paul:  Yeah.
Brenda:  “Girls are pretty, they smell nice, they have cute eyes…etc.”  Oh yeah you brought Bijoux to the site.
Paul:  Umm…when she freaks out it’s over those Korean artists so if I were to convert that to me I guess you can say I get stunned when I go to the car shows.  But then again those girls are different than the everyday girls but yea, girls are cute, and appealing.

Sophia:  Languages…you speak Cambodian, but do you know very much Japanese?  What languages would you like to learn?
Paul:  The only Japanese words I know are the ones that appear in a lot of anime.
Brenda:  HAHAHA.
Paul:  I would like to learn it.
Sophia:  I know, “KAWAIIIIIIII.”
Paul:  I know, you get sick of hearing that word.

Brenda:  List some of your likes and dislikes that you haven’t already mentioned.
Paul:  Umm about?
Brenda:  Anything.
Sophia:  He hates Sophia’s ramblings about guys.
Paul:  Yes I do, and some things you say at dinner that make me not want to eat.
Sophia:  HAHAHAHAHA.  WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME SOUND LIKE?!
Paul:  We’ll leave it off at this.
Brenda:  Hahaha.  That was one of the best responses yet.
Paul:  Yeah, that staff description on AC…that is a LIE for Sophia.
Sophia:  I’m as sweet as Warhead’s candy.
Paul:  Ask Alan (nadiafx) he agrees with me that the description is a lie.

Sophia:  What is your favorite feature on AC?
Paul:  I like the polls, but I hate how it says so many views but so little votes.  People, how hard is it to vote if you viewed the poll? [Take the hint!]

Sophia:  What are you favorite movies and childhood shows?
Paul:  Oh man, The Dark Knight or Transformers, or Harold and Kumar.  But I would have to say that The Dark Knight just took my favorite movie spot.
Sophia:  IT BEAT TRANSFORMERS FOR YOU?!
Paul:  Yes.  Childhood show: the very first Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.
Sophia:  That’s what Shakiro said!!!
Brenda:  Power Rangers. XDDD I wanted to be the yellow one, because she was Asian.
Sophia:  I wanted to be the pink one!
Paul:  I wanted to be Green when Tommy appeared because that shield was cool.  Haha.

Brenda:  What DID you want to be when you were a kid?  Or what childhood memories/dreams did you have?
Paul:  Wow, I don’t know if I had dreams as a child, as in big dreams.
Sophia:  I wanted to be a fireman once.
Paul:  Ohh, be a mailman.  I don’t know why…because I liked getting the mail?
Sophia:  HAHAHAHA.
Brenda:  You would have never made it as one Sophia, unless Big Bang was stuck in a burning building.
Sophia:  This is news to me. LOL
Paul:  I just recalled it; I don’t think I told people.

Brenda:  You use to live in Washington State; in the future do you plan to move back there?
Paul:  After I get my degree I might have to move there to get a good job so yeah.  Or I just might go to California or wherever…

It was a new experience interviewing Paul, since he has a sibling on staff, but it was fun. It was tough finding a time to interview Paul since he often is at work or getting ready for work. Although he is a busy guy, you should drop him a message. He is one of the chattier AC members and will always find a time to reply back to you.
