Big Bang’s TOP (Choi Seunghyun) is casted as actor Lee Byung Hun’s “KILLER” in the new drama IRIS (아이리스). IRIS was a $20,000,000 expensed drama that will be shot at an overseas location and have a large-scale set. The drama is directed by Kang Jegyu who has also directed Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War.

In this blockbuster drama, Seunghyun will take the role of a killer sent undercover by IRIS, a secret organization hidden in America, to assassinate Lee Byung Hun.

The drama has not been filmed yet and is expected to be aired in 2009.

I’m definitely excited for this drama. Not just because TOP is in it, but because it is expected to be one of the greatest dramas out in 2009 and the storyline finally doesn’t sound as cliche as other dramas are. Many people are excited to see a change from TOP’s charismatic character in I Am Sam to a killer in IRIS; I’m one of those people. His acting has improved greatly, and I can’t wait to see him. His acting in I Am Sam was a little bleh to me. He didn’t even have that many lines. Maybe his bad boy character will fit the part of a killer perfectly. I’d fall for his tricks any day.

Keep an eye out for IRIS! It will consist of 20 episodes and shooting is expected to begin in October.
